What is Vel Tempus?
Vel Tempus is a relatively self-sufficient program designed to take advantage of a crystalline defect found in the i5-10300H belonging to device CƒÄ-éïþÿÿ‹M-ü_^3Í[è. Once launched, the program will generate unique seeds for exploring different timelines.
It works by scraping the internet using every known protocol until it identifies key phrases or roots that may relate to video games. Once found, the program will obtain whatever files it can and attempt to categorize them logically by file names. Text based media will be automatically translated when possible.
The entries are sorted into subsections relative to their timeline divergence. Higher numbers indicate greater divergence. In the event that the program cannot determine the divergence rating of an entry, it will be soreted into the VAR_null subsection. A full breakdown of the subsections is as follows:
- VAR_0.1 - Minimal Divergence
- Very little difference exists in these timelines. A single different decision could have led to the existence of these products.
- VAR_0.3 - Slight Divergence
- Timelines remain mostly unchanged. A more significant shift has occurred to make these products possible, but most aspects of the gaming industry remain the same.
- VAR_0.5 - Moderate Divergence
- Fairly significant changes have occurred, leading to the release of products that may seem somewhat unlikely in this timeline. The gaming industry may look considerably different where these changes took place.
- VAR_1.0 - Significant Divergence
- Video game history would likely look very different past a certain point in history here. While things may have started the same, a considerable upset led to a restructuring of the industry as we know it. Products in these timelines would almost certainly have been impossible in our world.
- VAR_1+ - Extreme Divergence
- These timelines are in many ways unrecognizable to us. While parts of history leading up to the creation of the Atari 2600 remain mostly unchanged, everything past that point is uncertain. Very big things would have needed to take place for any of these products to have seen the light of day.
- VAR_null - Unknown
- The divergence seeds generated for these timelines cannot be classified. It’s nearly impossible to predict the changes that would have needed to occur for these products to exist. Many of them appear to us as nonsensical or even downright fantastical.
